I never had amorous relationship with Sherifa Gunu while managing her – Reagan Mends debunks Bulldog’s allegation

My attention has been drawn to a derogatory statement by the former manager of Vybz Kartel’s acclaimed African Dancehall King Shatta Wale, Lawrence Asiamah Hanson, better known as Bulldog (Bullgod),

As a pundit on UTV’s United Showbiz show on Saturday, January 18, 2025, Bulldog alleged that every artiste manager has had an amorous relationship with his female artiste.

According to my checks, he made this offensive allegation while sharing his thoughts on Mr Logic’s feud with his artiste, Mo Spence.

As the former manager of the highly successful female traditional artiste, Sherifa Gunu, I find this accusation malicious and unfounded.

I served as Sherifa Gunu’s manager on three distinct occasions. The year 2012 was particularly fruitful, during which she released hit songs like “Mbrantie” and “Bingo.” In that same year, she gave birth to her first child, Irana.

While I had the opportunity to see Sherifa Gunu breastfeeding during my tenure as her manager, this was strictly professional. Our relationship remained solely focused on her career.

Additionally, Sherifa Gunu is a respected senior colleague in the industry, having been mentored by the late Hiplife/Dancehall legend, Terry Bonchaka, whom I also managed.

I consider her, along with other legendary musicians like King Ayisoba and Shatta Wale, who were also mentored by Terry Bonchaka, to be part of my professional family.

Despite the grimness of this false accusation, I have decided to forgive Bulldog. This is primarily because Shatta Wale’s mother, Madam Elsie Avemegah, informed me that Bulldog never disrespected her while managing her son.

She specifically mentioned to me after her fracas with Shatta Wale’s current manager, Sammy Flex, that Bulldog exhibited respectful behaviour towards her during his time as the manager of the “On God” hitmaker.

However, due to the immense pressure I am receiving from my family, relatives, friends, and loved ones, it would be appropriate for Bulldog to retract the statement either on the same platform he made the pronouncement or on any other available platform.
