Fast-rising singer and rapper Yongtee, well-known for creatively refixing popular songs, is back again with a new track titled Oobake a Ga word that literally means “welcome.” Recently, there’s been a lot of back-and-forth between the Ga and Asante communities over the suggestion to replace Akwaaba with Oobake, sparking widespread debate on social media.
