Kk Kabobo influenced my style – MAVLUS (formally OD4)
Versatile Ghanaian artiste OD4 now called MAVLUS in an exclusive interview on Hammer Time, payed respect to ace highlife artiste KK Kabobo for influencing his style as an artiste.
On the show, he noted that there were a lot of influence from the international market but KK Kabobo is one of the few Ghanaian artistes who inspired him to specialize in Ragga as an artiste, at a point where it was less popular in Ghana.
Explaining the misconception surrounding dancehall and ragga, sometimes people misinterpret lyrics from songs they consume, he said.
“Jamaican artiste used metaphors in their lyrics but do not directly mean what they put out there”, he explained.
Talking highly on the new crop of dancehall artistes who are doing so well just like Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, he also encouraged artistes to look at a way to work hand in hand to promote unity. Stressing on Shatta Wale’s cancelling of Freedom Wave Concert because of Stonebwoy’s, advised both artistes to collaborate more.
”We shouldn’t only focus on the negative side, but see the light even when things are not going as planned hitting on Shatta Wale’s cancellation of freedom wave concert scheduled for December 25”.
